Advent Prayer For Meeting
Here is a prayer before a meeting. It’s published on the St. Louis University Prayerbook, a site where members of the SLU community share prayers. Heavenly Father, we come to you today asking for your guidance, wisdom, and support as we begin this meeting. The following Advent Prayer Service was submitted by Debi Tyree. It uses several songs from The Faith We Sing. It could be used during a short devotion or prayer time or at the close of a meeting or a choir rehearsal. It lasts approximately fifteen to twenty minutes.' Let us give thanks for the Child whom we celebrate this Advent season.

In the midst of lists and rush, you are with us as a song that echoes in our minds, as the light of a candle, as a card from a friend. They are signs of your presence. We turn to you this season and pray that you would birth joy and healing, blessing and hope in us. Let something wonderful begin in us — something surprising and holy. M ay your hand be upon us.
